I was very lucky recently to have another trip to George Calombaris',
The Press Club. This was the location for my
Great Redundo farewell lunch which I shared with my gorgeous job share partner and bestie! We had a beautiful meal and lots of laughs. The Press Club is the kind of place where you feel special but its still relaxed as well. As I have said before I am a very big advocate of
celebrating and I felt lucky to have had a send off with fantastic people that I have worked with for a long time.
The 5 course degustation menu (which became 6 due to a misunderstanding), was outstanding. We thought we were booked in for the 8 course degustation menu but it turns out that's only offered for dinner. Due to the mix up, an extra dessert was thrown in!

Now, I am not normally fan of rice puddings but this was AMAZING!
Lots of different layers, flavours and textures. |

| What a great workmate and buddy! Has always made work feel like fun! |
The highlight at the end of the meal was when we spotted George in the kitchen. Both times I have been to The Press Club, George has been there, (just saying!) He made his way around to all the tables which I think is brilliant. He was relaxed and chatty, just like on Master Chef! He gave us some tips about how to best prepare and cook fish (rule no. 1 - make sure it is at room temperature before you cook it!). My bestie even asked him for a job! A gorgeous day out with gorgeous people. A fitting way to mark the end of 18 years in my "corporate" job. Onwards and upwards I say!
