A Spot for Joe, Geelong

You know I can't resist taking pics of my coffee!
In my recent cafe caper around Geelong, I came across a cafe called "A Spot for Joe" that I had been hearing about on the grapevine. A couple of weeks ago, I dropped little Miss 4 off at kinder and made a bee-line to check it out!

Run by a lovely husband and wife team the cafe is "minimalistic, not stark with a Scandinavian feel" (Owner, Jarrod's paraphrased words from my shady memory!) The place definitely has a very funky feel and is really going for that "hidden down an alley way" feel. A little piece of Melbourne in G Town.
Just love this on the wall!
I ordered a latte and an alfajores, which I was told was a Argentinian bicci. It was gorgeous!!! The coffee was strong by regular standards (not in a bad way but important that you know!)

The centre of the biscuit was soft and had a beautiful caramel inside
I had a lovely afternoon, reading on my iPad and enjoying the child free bliss. On my way out I noticed this little icecream freezer box with "Pat and Sticks" ice cream sandwiches inside. They are hand made by a Sydney company, where they bake the cookies and mix the ice cream the old-fashioned way (says their website!)  I will definitely be back to try one of those!

  2. I love little 'holes in the wall' like this place, with good coffee and quirky names. The owners are always great company too. x
