My Miss 3 and a half starts kinder this week for real. Last week we had orientation and I stayed with her but this week I have to leave her for 2 and a half hours. I have never left her with anyone but close family so it’s a big deal. When we had to fill in the paperwork and explain our hopes and dreams for her…we both in reality thought…”we hope she doesn’t hit anyone” and “we hope she doesn’t poo in her undies!” Instead we put something about watching her grow and develop and make friends etc. etc. I know I am not Robinson Crusoe in saying this about my own daughter but I just love her so much I could burst at the seams. She is often our biggest challenge and we don’t know where the hell she came from!
I could burst at the seams at loving Miss 7 too but I cannot stop marvelling at how bloody different they are.
Miss 7 is our first…she’s an angel, she’s kind and thoughtful and sometimes whingey and talks ALL THE TIME…she has to have the last word and she loves to be loved. She’s a perfectionist and competitive (HATES to lose). She is AMAZING!
Miss 3.5 is headstrong, determined, feisty, demanding, hilarious, loves to dance and sing and is prone to hitting and tantrums. Her catch phrase is “I’ll do it myself” whereas Miss 7 will say, “will you help me?” Miss 3.5 is exasperating but sometimes I wonder why we don’t just “let her do it herself” more often. (Perhaps because sometimes that involves her helping herself to a handful of margarine from the fridge when you’ve already said no)

I just want to say good luck to my little Missy for kinder …. I do really want to see her develop and blossom and thrive. I secretly love her dynamic, feisty and charismatic ways.
We just have to learn how to use her powers for good and not evil!
That's so funny. She looks like she's going on sixteen, helping around the house and socialising.
ReplyDeleteShe is hilarious...makes me laugh every day!
DeleteOooh, aren't they gorgeous!? And isn't it amazing how different two children of the same parents and same gender can be so different. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHope kinder goes well. Our first started kinder last week and loves it.
Thanks Kate! Its such an exciting new phase isn't it. I just love seeing them thrive and grow!
