Brunch with kids @ Sip Espresso Cafe

Off to brunch at "Sip" Espresso cafe in Belmont with kids including gorgeous niece, brother and sister in law...the whole brood...the test...can this place handle 2 three year olds, a precocious 6 year old and a couple of discerning coffee drinkers?
Verdict - Friendly place with lots of room, pretty good food...healthy serves... kids pancakes ordered with everything "on the side" which was a massive hit...can't beat mixing pancakes with hash browns and bacon and then finishing off with pouring maple syrup on the plate and slurping it with a strawer (yes, that was my 3 year old dynamo!)  Some food and coffee a little hit and miss but overall a very pleasant experience that I would happily repeat!

Back in G Town

So here I find myself back in my home town after 20 years of being a "Melbournite," which I freely admit I loved. I am a mother of 2 gorgeous girls, a 6 year old and a nearly 3 year old dynamo and married to a gorgeous husband, 13 years as of last week. We have had many ups and downs, the most recent being the very sudden and tragic loss of my father to mesothelioma on Christmas Eve 2009. This is what has bought us back to "G town" after all this time, to be close to family and to provide a wonderful place for our girls to grow up. We are living with my mum, another dynamo and if she can tolerate us and our "nearly 3 year old dynamo" she can tolerate anything. A month ago we bought a block of land and decided to build a new house on sort of a whim...so we'll see where that takes us!  Anyway, I thought it might be fun to share my discoveries about my new, old home town, Geelong or G town. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Mez x
